Frequently asked questions.

Compass offers AI-supported coaching for life navigation and professional situations. Its human-developed coaching framework helps you understand what matters, explore options and choose a practical next step.

Compass focuses on coaching. Its structured approach helps you move from understanding a situation to choosing an action and reflecting on what happened.

Use Compass for life navigation: making sense of where you are, what matters to you and what to do next. It can help you navigate everyday pressures, relationships, difficult choices and changes in life or work, turn reflection into action and keep moving forward.

Personal supports life navigation: everyday choices, relationships, priorities and change. Professional supports situations at work, including decisions, conversations, Scenario Training and Debrief.

No. Compass may be useful before, alongside or after professional support, but it does not replace qualified expertise, therapy, medical care, supervision, organisational procedures or emergency services.

Do not rely on Compass for immediate danger, emergencies, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, legal representation or consequential decisions about identifiable third parties. Contact the appropriate qualified or emergency service when needed.

Coach messages are processed to generate responses. During the pilot, retained conversation continuity stays in your browser and is scoped to your signed-in identity. Journal and Daily planning are separate browser-local writing activities. Avoid unnecessary sensitive or identifying details, especially about other people.

Start with the exam dates, the topics assessed and the study time you actually have. Choose one important gap and a small task you can finish today, such as attempting three practice questions and reviewing the errors. Leave room for breaks and unexpected demands. Compass can help you compare priorities and turn them into a workable revision plan. Check exam requirements and permitted materials with your course provider.

Separate the fear from the practical uncertainty: is the difficulty the material, the format, the time limit or the consequences of a result? Prepare one response to the part you can influence, such as a timed practice or a question for your tutor. Compass can help you rehearse that plan.

Make the first task concrete enough that you know when it is finished: open the relevant chapter, answer one question or list the three points you do not understand. Notice whether you are avoiding confusion, an unrealistic workload or fear of doing badly. Compass can help you choose a smaller starting point and a time to review it. A missed session is information for adjusting the plan, not a verdict on your ability.

Put fixed commitments on the calendar before allocating study time. Decide what must happen, what can be reduced temporarily and what needs a conversation with someone else. Protect a few realistic study blocks rather than filling every gap. Compass can help you prepare a request for practical help or compare two schedules. Do not assume that studying longer is always the right answer when your available capacity is already stretched.

Give yourself time to understand the result before making a large decision about your future. Gather the feedback, the resit or appeal rules and the relevant deadlines from the institution. Separate knowledge gaps from preparation, exam technique and circumstances on the day. Compass can help you turn that review into questions for a tutor and a next-step plan.

Compare the actual course content, entry requirements, costs, workload and likely day-to-day experience. Pick a few criteria that matter to you and identify one way to test an assumption, such as attending an open day or speaking with a current student. Compass can help you weigh trade-offs and prepare questions. Verify admission and funding information with the institution; a subject label alone does not tell you whether a course fits.

Write down the decision, the real deadline and the options that are available, including waiting if that is possible. For each option, consider what you gain, what you give up and what information could change your view. Compass can help you organise these trade-offs.

Ask whether another round of thinking is likely to produce new information. Identify the uncertainty you can investigate and the uncertainty you may have to carry. A small reversible experiment can sometimes be more informative than comparing every possible outcome. Compass can help you define a decision point and a reasonable standard for enough information.

Describe one part of life that feels stuck rather than trying to solve everything at once. Ask what you want more of, what is draining your capacity and what still matters to you. Choose a small action that would provide information: a conversation, a trial activity or a change to one routine. Compass can help structure that exploration. You do not need a complete life plan before taking a useful first step.

List the demands in front of you, then distinguish urgent needs from expectations that can be renegotiated. Choose what needs attention today and what you can postpone, delegate or simplify. Compass can help prepare a short priority list and a request for support. If the underlying problem is too much responsibility, a better checklist alone will not remove it; the next step may be changing the demands or involving another person.

Bring concrete examples of workload, conflicting priorities and the effect on what you can deliver. Decide what you want to ask for, such as clearer priorities, a deadline change or a discussion about responsibilities. Compass can help you turn those examples into a clear request and rehearse the conversation.

Choose a specific situation rather than judging your confidence as a whole. Identify what you already know, what you need to practise and what a manageable attempt would look like. Compass can help you prepare an opening sentence, a short practice plan or a request for feedback. The aim is an action you can learn from, not a promise that you will feel confident before doing it.

Define a small behaviour, when it will happen and what might get in the way. Make the plan workable on an ordinary difficult day, not only on a day when you feel motivated. Decide how you will restart after a missed attempt. Compass can help you review what happened and adjust the goal, cue or workload. Tracking progress should inform the plan rather than become another demand you cannot sustain.

Compass can help you clarify why you want to change, notice situations linked to smoking and prepare questions for a stop-smoking service or healthcare professional. You can also plan practical support from people around you.

Describe the situation from your own perspective, including what you have observed, what you need and what remains uncertain. Consider whether a respectful conversation is safe and useful, and what you want it to clarify. Compass can help you prepare questions and explore your choices. If there is intimidation, abuse or danger, seek appropriate specialist support rather than relying on a joint conversation.

Make the limit specific: what can you do, what can you not do and what alternative, if any, can you offer? Prepare a short sentence that is respectful and clear. Compass can help you practise responses if the other person is disappointed or asks again. You cannot control their reaction. Where a boundary could put your safety, housing or livelihood at risk, get suitable support before acting.

Choose one issue and a realistic aim for the first conversation. Use a concrete example, explain its effect on you and ask for the other person's perspective. Decide when to pause if the discussion becomes unproductive. Compass can help you rehearse the opening and identify assumptions. Where there is coercion or danger, seek specialist support before arranging a conversation.

Think about the kind of contact you miss: regular company, shared interests, practical support or a closer relationship. Choose one setting where repeated contact is possible and one small invitation or introduction you would be willing to try. Compass can help you plan that step and review the experience.

Separate immediate practical tasks from the slower work of building routines and relationships. Pick a few anchors for the coming week, such as a regular activity, an administrative task and contact with someone you know. Compass can help you identify what is unfamiliar and what support would make the transition easier. Check local registration and housing requirements with the relevant authority.

Distinguish what is difficult about the current role from what you want in the next one. Compare the work itself, management, learning, location, flexibility and financial constraints. Consider an information-gathering step before a resignation, such as discussing a role adjustment or exploring vacancies. Compass can help organise the comparison and prepare conversations. Check your contract and financial commitments before resigning.

Look at the tasks in your work rather than assuming an entire job will disappear. Identify which tasks are changing, where your judgment and relationships matter and what you could test or learn next. Compass can help you map transferable skills and design a small learning experiment. Check current requirements with employers and training providers.

Separate immediate needs from longer-term direction. Make a short list of deadlines, essential expenses, people to contact and documents you need. Then choose a manageable job-search or skills step. Compass can help you prepare a plan and explain your experience in an interview. Check benefit eligibility and employment rights through official local services or qualified advisers.

Consider what work previously supplied besides income: structure, contact, usefulness, identity or learning. Explore a few ways to meet those needs without replacing a full working week with another demanding schedule. Compass can help you design a small trial, such as volunteering or a regular learning activity, and review whether it fits.

Describe the practical load, including planning and coordination that may be less visible. Choose one recurring pressure point and discuss a clearer division of responsibility, including who notices, plans and follows through. Compass can help an adult prepare that conversation and identify support needs.

List the tasks you are carrying and identify a specific request: transport, an appointment companion, a regular break or help coordinating services. Think about who can realistically help and what information they need. Compass can help you prepare the request and a conversation with the care team.

Compass can help you sort immediate tasks, prepare a request for help and decide what can wait. For example, make one list of time-sensitive arrangements and another of decisions that do not need to be made today.

Start with the limits and advice already discussed with your healthcare team. Identify which responsibilities need adjustment and which conversations could help you get practical support. Compass can help you prepare questions or compare ways to organise the day.

Compass may help you organise questions, describe your situation in your own words and identify practical support you can ask for while waiting. Keep any existing care plan and contact arrangements with your provider. Contact your provider or an appropriate local service if your needs change; seek emergency help for immediate danger.

Use the goals and plans you agreed with the professional as your starting point. Notice what is working, what has become difficult and what you want to discuss at a follow-up. Compass can help you organise that reflection and plan everyday actions. Bring setbacks or new concerns back to the relevant professional.

Gather the shared facts you are comfortable discussing, such as upcoming bills, responsibilities and decisions that need attention. Agree on a practical goal for the conversation rather than trying to resolve every disagreement at once. Compass can help you prepare neutral wording and questions. For questions about debt or benefits, prepare a separate list for the relevant advice service.

Identify what is changing in daily structure, identity, relationships and work, alongside the skills you want to carry forward. Choose one civilian activity or conversation that could help you test a possible direction. Compass can help organise reflection and preparation. Keep classified and operational information out of examples.

Start with what you need: practical reflection, specialist advice, an ongoing human relationship or urgent help. Compass is a structured coaching and reflection tool for thinking through situations and possible next steps. Use the dedicated questions on professional support and appropriate use to check whether it fits your needs.

Separate academic preparation, practical barriers and wellbeing concerns. Plan questions that clarify what the student finds difficult and which institutional support is available. Compass can help an educator rehearse that conversation or organise a support meeting. Explore barriers before assuming poor performance reflects low effort, and use the institution’s support routes when needed.

Map the fixed assessment requirements, overlapping deadlines and staff capacity. Identify the decisions a leader can make, the work that can be deferred and the issues requiring escalation. Compass can help prepare a meeting agenda or a prioritisation conversation. Keep mandatory assessment and safeguarding requirements clear when discussing what can change.

Start with the purpose, a few concrete observations and the effect on the work. Prepare questions that leave room for information you do not yet have, then identify what a reasonable next step might be. Compass can help rehearse the opening and possible responses. For a formal performance or disciplinary matter, follow the HR process and establish the facts before drawing conclusions.

Check that the expectation was clear, feasible and supported by appropriate resources. Distinguish observations from assumptions about attitude or ability. Ask about barriers, agree what needs to happen next and decide how progress will be reviewed. Compass can help you prepare that structure.

Use observable changes rather than labels: missed handovers, less participation or a concern the person has raised. Prepare a conversation about their experience, workload, clarity and support. Compass can help you frame open questions and consider alternative explanations. Explore barriers and support needs before making assumptions about willingness.

State the decision needed, who has authority to make it and what information participants need in advance. Separate items for information, discussion and decision. Compass can help you test the agenda and prepare questions about options, trade-offs and missing evidence. End the actual meeting by confirming ownership, actions and a review point. Do not record agreement in the output unless the people involved really agreed.

Define the outcome, the decision authority, constraints and the support available. Agree how and when to check progress without taking back every task. Compass can help you rehearse the delegation conversation and identify unclear expectations. Match responsibility with the person’s capacity, competence and available resources.

Identify what has been observed, what each person needs to explain and which organisational process applies. Plan a fair conversation about the work and its impact, with clear limits on acceptable conduct. Compass can help you consider questions and your own assumptions. Bullying, discrimination, threats or formal complaints may require a designated process rather than informal mediation.

Make the demand and capacity gap explicit. Identify essential obligations, work that can be rescheduled and decisions that need authorisation from someone else. Compass can help you prepare an escalation or a conversation about priorities. Avoid presenting a structural shortage as an individual's resilience problem. Identify staffing or safety requirements that need escalation rather than asking the team to absorb the gap.

Separate what is decided, what remains uncertain and when people can expect the next update. Explain the practical effect that is known and make room for questions you cannot yet answer. Compass can help you rehearse clear wording and anticipate concerns. Avoid reassurance you cannot substantiate, invented timelines or promises about jobs.

Start with the role requirements and decide what evidence each question should elicit. Use a consistent structure, relevant examples and a documented evaluation process agreed by your organisation. Compass can help draft practice questions or challenge vague criteria. Use fictional examples in Compass; evaluate actual candidates through your organisation’s agreed hiring process.

Clarify the purpose, permission requirements and the role-related information you are entitled to ask for. Prepare neutral questions that distinguish direct observation from opinion. Compass can help you review the wording using an anonymised example. Keep the questions relevant to the role and the agreed reference process.

Focus on work requirements, the employee's perspective, agreed advice and the support needed for a workable return. Ask which matters require HR, occupational health or another qualified professional. Compass can help you prepare questions and organise an agreed review point. Leave medical fitness decisions with occupational health and request only information needed for the work arrangements.

Describe the competing duties, the affected people, the facts you know and the assumptions you are making. Identify your authority and which policy, professional code or jurisdiction needs checking. Compass can help structure reflection and questions for supervision or qualified advice. Where delay could cause harm, use the required reporting or escalation route promptly.

Clarify what must be decided now, what can wait and who holds authority. Distinguish verified information from assumptions and identify the consequences of acting or delaying. Compass can support preparation or later reflection in a non-urgent setting. In an active incident, use the applicable procedures and responsible command structure.

Clarify the complaint, the effect on the customer and what you are authorised to offer. Prepare to acknowledge the experience, ask for missing information and explain the next step without promising an outcome you cannot deliver. Compass can help you practise the conversation. Use the designated complaints process where the issue needs formal review.

Identify the decision at issue, the interests behind each position and the limits of your authority. Consider which information or option could make progress possible without concealing important trade-offs. Compass can help you rehearse questions and compare proposals. Keep commitments conditional where you still need approval from the appropriate decision-maker.

Agree the purpose and distinguish a learning conversation from an investigation, formal incident report or clinical intervention. Review what was expected, what happened, what influenced it and what should change. Compass can help a professional organise their own anonymised reflection or prepare a debrief agenda. Complete required reporting separately from the learning discussion.

Choose a specific situation and identify what you want to understand about your judgment, response or boundaries. Bring the uncertainties as well as the actions you took. Compass can help you prepare a concise anonymised account and questions for a supervisor.

The Professional route can help structure material from the actual conversation into an output such as a summary or action plan. Ask for facts, interpretations, unanswered questions and proposed actions to remain distinct. Review the result carefully for omissions, invented agreement and incorrect ownership before using it. Approve and record the final version through your usual organisational process.

Define the role, learning goal and fictional situation, then establish the relevant country or jurisdiction before any rules are discussed. Make the assumptions explicit through the briefing, practice, debrief and retry. Compass can help you explore communication choices and reflect on the attempt. Check policy-dependent details against your actual procedures before applying the learning.

Keep the focus on communication preparation, personal professional reflection, team coordination or questions for supervision. Use a fictional or carefully anonymised example and follow your organisation's AI and confidentiality policies. Keep patient records and clinical decisions in approved care systems; use Compass for the communication or reflection task.

Explore the conversation itself: what the person understood, what mattered to them, which constraints were raised and what needs clarification with the care team. Compass can help you rehearse respectful questions. Explore pain, fatigue and practical barriers before assuming the person lacks motivation.

Clarify the meeting's purpose, each participant's role, the person's expressed preferences and the questions that need a decision. Compass can help organise an anonymised agenda and identify unclear responsibilities. Confirm consent to share information and take eligibility, safeguarding and service decisions through the responsible local process.

Focus on your own communication, boundaries, coordination and questions for supervision. Consider practical barriers and service constraints without making assumptions about a person's character or readiness. Compass can help structure a fictional or anonymised reflection. Take housing, care and safeguarding decisions through the responsible services; escalate immediate risks directly.

Use a fictional scenario with a clear learning aim, role and jurisdiction. Practise explaining expectations, listening for practical barriers and identifying questions that belong with a supervisor or specialist. Compass can help with communication preparation and debrief. Keep risk assessments, sanctions and release decisions within authorised professional processes.

Compass can support non-urgent, anonymised reflection on communication, teamwork and questions to bring to an approved debrief or supervisor. Keep protected or operationally sensitive details out of examples. Use the service’s incident-reporting and welfare routes directly when needed; ongoing incidents belong with the operational command structure.

After the operational task is complete, identify one communication issue, the information available at the time and what you want to understand. Compass can help prepare questions for a supervisor or a learning discussion using a fictional or anonymised example. Keep live dispatch decisions and official records within approved operational systems.

Use fictional, non-sensitive situations to practise communication, prepare a support conversation or reflect on an instructional approach. Establish the role, relevant jurisdiction and applicable procedures before discussing rules. Keep classified information, operational planning and personnel decisions within authorised systems.

Separate the legal or policy basis, verified facts, options, affected interests and unresolved questions. Identify who has authority and what consultation or review is required. Compass can help organise a draft for discussion using non-identifying information. Verify the applicable rules and document the authorised decision through the official process.

List the decisions, constraints and commitments, then identify what has the greatest practical effect and what information is missing. Compass can help prepare a prioritisation conversation, a small experiment or questions for an adviser. Keep business projections clearly labelled as assumptions.

Check your organisation's permission, AI policy, confidentiality requirements and the limits of your role. Use Compass for preparation and reflection only where that is appropriate. Keep identifying client and employee records in approved systems. Decide who will verify drafts before they influence professional action.

Ask the official provider or instructor what will be assessed and which rules apply. Break preparation into skills, format, timing and practical arrangements. Rehearse a specific part with a qualified instructor or tutor where needed. Compass can help you make a preparation checklist and review feedback. Confirm test dates and requirements for your own location.

Clarify the audience, the purpose and the time available. Choose a few examples that demonstrate the points you want to make and practise answering likely follow-up questions. Compass can help you structure an introduction, anticipate questions and reflect after a practice attempt. Keep claims about experience accurate, avoid confidential examples and use feedback to improve one specific element rather than rewriting everything at once.

Identify when a device interrupts the task and what you are usually seeking in that moment. Try one practical change, such as keeping the phone out of reach for a defined work block or choosing a time to check messages. Compass can help you plan the experiment and review whether it fits your responsibilities. Keep access to essential communication; the goal is a workable routine rather than a perfect screen-time score.

Map what currently fills the evening and identify which tasks are fixed, shared or optional. Choose one responsibility to move, simplify or discuss with someone else. Compass can help prepare that conversation or make a more realistic evening plan.

Describe what happened without excusing the effect on someone else. Notice the demand, interpretation and action involved, then decide whether an apology, repair or change in circumstances is needed. Compass can help you prepare a responsible follow-up and identify an earlier point at which to pause next time. If there is aggression, intimidation or a risk of harm, seek suitable support and prioritise safety over rehearsing another argument.

Define what the task actually requires and what would count as a useful first version. Distinguish important quality or safety requirements from extra work that does not change the outcome. Compass can help you set a review point and decide what feedback to seek.

Identify whose input is useful and whose agreement you are hoping to secure. Write down your own priorities before asking for advice, then decide what part of the choice belongs to you. Compass can help you practise explaining a preference respectfully. Where you depend on others for safety or essential support, consider that context carefully rather than treating independence as a simple matter of saying no.

Separate immediate arrangements from longer-term decisions about housing, money, parenting and communication. Choose a short list of issues for the next conversation and identify where a mediator, lawyer or other professional is needed. Compass can help you prepare questions and organise your own thinking. Take questions about rights, parenting arrangements and settlements to the relevant professional. If there is abuse or coercion, seek specialist support before negotiating directly.

Use concrete examples of communication, time, family involvement or future plans rather than assuming that culture explains a disagreement. Ask what an expectation means to each of you and which arrangements are realistic. Compass can help you rehearse curious questions and compare possible agreements.

Talk about practical responsibilities, time, support and expectations before assuming that both people have the same picture. Pick one ordinary day and discuss who would handle the tasks and how you would ask for help. Compass can help an adult prepare this conversation.

Clarify the expectations, available support and any agreed limits before setting a full schedule. List what has changed and what you need to ask the employer, institution or relevant professional. Compass can help you prepare a phased planning conversation and a review point. Agree health-related workload limits and adjustments with the responsible professionals.

Choose a situation you want to handle more deliberately, such as the opening minutes or responding to an error. Focus your preparation on actions within your control and discuss technical or physical requirements with your coach or instructor. Compass can help you reflect on expectations and rehearse a practical plan.

Look at a few recent choices: what felt meaningful, what caused conflict and what did you wish you had protected? Turn broad words such as freedom or responsibility into concrete implications for your current situation. Compass can help you compare these priorities when they pull in different directions. A values exercise is a starting point for reflection, not a fixed personality label or a verdict about who you should become.

Consider the role, expected time, emotional demands and the support available. Compare those with your current capacity and decide what you can reliably offer. Compass can help you prepare questions before agreeing and wording for renegotiating an existing commitment. Check role-specific training, safeguarding and confidentiality requirements with the organisation; goodwill does not replace the preparation or supervision a role may need.

Choose one area where a small improvement would matter today. Write the next physical action rather than a vague goal: put the documents in one folder, send one message or clear one surface. Compass can help you sequence a few tasks and identify support or simplification.

You do not need a complete explanation before contacting someone. Start with what is happening, how it is affecting daily life and what you hope the conversation will help with. Compass can help you organise a short note or questions for a trusted person or professional. If you are in immediate danger or may harm yourself or someone else, contact emergency or crisis support directly instead of waiting to perfect the wording.

Review what the receiving person needed, what was communicated and which assumptions were left unstated. Use the required handover standard for your setting and identify a concrete improvement to discuss with the team. Compass can help prepare that reflection with fictional or anonymised information. Record the actual handover in the approved system, including all required clinical or safety-critical information.

Separate the original commitment, changes in scope, dependencies and the information available when decisions were made. Prepare a conversation about a realistic recovery plan, ownership and decisions that need escalation. Compass can help test your questions and distinguish explanation from blame. Avoid inventing agreement or silently shifting accountability; any revised deadline or scope needs the actual approval of the responsible people.

Map the tasks being considered, the intended benefit and the effects on people, quality and accountability. Ask what should be tested, who will review the results and which uses need approval. Compass can help prepare the discussion and explore transferable skills. Follow organisational consultation, data, procurement and employment requirements.

Consider what happens after someone speaks up, not only whether you invite questions. Prepare to listen, clarify the concern, explain the next step and follow through within your authority. Compass can help you rehearse a response and reflect on defensiveness. Do not promise confidentiality or protection you cannot provide. Serious concerns, retaliation or safeguarding issues require the designated reporting and support routes.

Write down the observed facts, the potential impact, the immediate actions already taken and the decision or support needed. Distinguish direct knowledge from information you have not verified. Compass can help organise a non-identifying draft. Submit reports through the designated channel and do not delay an urgent report to refine the wording.

Ask which communication needs, language preferences and contextual differences are relevant to the specific people involved. Use clear wording and check understanding instead of assuming shared meanings. Compass can help you practise questions and identify your assumptions. Use qualified interpreters, accessibility support and required procedures where the situation calls for them.

Discuss availability, response times, decision channels and which work needs shared time. Make exceptions and different responsibilities explicit rather than measuring commitment by online visibility. Compass can help prepare a team conversation or compare possible working agreements. Review the proposed arrangement with the team and relevant policy owners.

Ask what the person wants from the conversation and which examples would help explore their next step. Prepare questions that support their thinking instead of prescribing your own career path. Compass can help you rehearse listening, feedback and a possible follow-up structure. Agree the development goals and follow-up with the person.

Clarify whether the situation calls for exploration, instruction, feedback or a decision you are responsible for making. Use open questions where the other person has room to choose, and be explicit about genuine constraints. Compass can help you practise this distinction. Do not present a predetermined outcome as an open coaching conversation or use coaching to transfer a manager's accountability to an employee.

First confirm your role and the applicable process with the designated HR or investigation lead. Prepare neutral questions that distinguish what was directly observed, when it occurred and what records may exist. Compass can help review anonymised wording. Leave findings and any sanctions to the authorised investigation process, and preserve the original evidence.

Confirm the authorised message, what has actually been decided, what remains subject to consultation and what support can be offered. Prepare to communicate clearly and respond to questions without making promises beyond your authority. Compass can help rehearse tone and identify ambiguity. Use the required HR and consultation process for selection, rights and formal decisions.

Identify the decision, the information available, the interests involved and any potential conflict that needs disclosure. Check the governing documents, applicable duties and the advice required before proceeding. Compass can help structure questions for discussion using non-sensitive information. Resolve legal questions with the appropriate adviser and document the board’s own judgement.

Use the formal reporting route first where required. In the learning discussion, examine conditions, information, controls and decisions rather than stopping at a label such as carelessness. Compass can help prepare questions for an anonymised reflection. Assign and verify corrective actions through the organisation’s safety and quality process.

Clarify the purpose, participants, permission to share information and the decisions that belong to the institution or relevant professional. Prepare concrete observations and questions about support rather than labels about a learner. Compass can help the adult professional organise an anonymised agenda. Take educational assessments and safeguarding decisions through the responsible professional process.

Describe the demands, their effect on your work or daily life and the support you want to discuss. Consider a supervisor, trusted colleague, occupational service or qualified healthcare professional as appropriate. Compass can help you organise a short note or prepare the conversation. Contact the appropriate service directly if help or a safety escalation is urgent.

List the responsibilities, decision authority, key relationships and situations where the new person should ask for help. Distinguish information they need immediately from what can be learned over time. Compass can help you prepare a first-week conversation and review questions. Confirm required training, supervision and access before assigning independent work.
